In my eight years of experience at Venture House, I have never been unsuccessful in getting the attention from staff I needed to finish a thought or idea in the process of moving forward. From involving myself in the work ordered day, I have found the stability within myself to feel confident rejoining the outside world. By going to social events such as the Gala, I have found the confidence I have lost in making and keeping friendships. Since my orientation, I am sober, I quit smoking, and I have not been hospitalized for any reason.
The depth of my recovery is so boundless I feel as if my spirit will live on for a thousand years. Not everyone gets a second chance or an opportunity to rebuild themselves. I am forever grateful for the kindness I have been shown, especially through the programs at the Media Center. I will continue to participate in the Venture House community for the rest of my life.
