Bronx Strong: The Bronx Leaders Visit Venture House

Bronx Borough President, Vanessa Gibson and Assemblymember Yudelka Tapia visited Venture House Bronx to discuss our programs supporting individuals with mental illness and those impacted by homelessness.

We appreciate their commitment to addressing the complex needs of the Bronx community and look forward to collaborating to enhance support services.

As a Bronx native, and the Director of the new Bronx Clubhouse, I learned firsthand the power of community. The Bronx isn’t just where I’m from—it’s a part of who I am. I know the heart of this borough is its people. That’s why I’m so proud to lead our New Venture House Bronx Clubhouse right here in my hometown.

This January, we’re launching programs that celebrate our creativity, resilience, and determination—everything that makes ‘The BX’ one-of-a-kind. Let’s grow together and make 2025 a year of opportunity for everyone in our community.

Supporting our Most Vulnerable

The HOPE 2025 (Homeless Outreach Population Estimate) took place on January 28th, 2025, at 10 PM. Over a single night, volunteers canvassed streets, subway stations, parks, and other public spaces across the city to identify individuals living unsheltered. Venture House lent a hand along with other organizations to support this cause.

Thanks to our Queens Clubhouse Director, David Plotka, and our Housing Director, Larry Jones for rallying our members to volunteer this humane initiative.
